Javits Center

The Jacob Javits Convention Center recently underwent a major renovation project to reduce energy consumption by 26%.  Improvements to the existing building include the addition of a 292,000sf green roof, the second largest on a single, free-standing building in the US.  Other significant city-wide benefits include the annual prevention of approximately 6.8 million gallons of stormwater run-off and additional aesthetic value in an urban open space – the pre-vegetated green roof system by Xero Flor America acts as a fifth building façade that is seen and appreciated from adjacent high-rises.
